Have blue screen. Can not start Mac to get serial number.iMac failed when reinstalling OS X. Inserted disk and clicked install OS. Looks like OS was erased than Mac froze and blue screen came on. Ho!ding OPTION does not work.

Tried all suggested hints.
Tried new hard drive. Same results.
2007 Mac no EMS number. Model # A1208. OS 10.6.8
