Now every now and then it starts to lag, resets and shows 1% battery and that the battery is not genuine and it wont show the battery health. Then it resets again and everything goes back to normal, and the phone says the battery is genuine.

iPhone XR: iPhone XR Heat Shield Removal

I bought an iPhone XR refurbished from Amazon and accidentally dropped it in water. I thought it would be fine, but after pulling out and drying it as best I could it won't power on anymore. Anyway, I decided to try and repair it myself, but after following the opening instructions, I found that my version of iPhone has a heat shield that looks like it's soldered in. Is the only way to remove it by using a solder gun? Also, I've noticed that none of the online instructions show the type of metal shield that I'm seeing after detaching the screen. Is it possible that I was sold the wrong version of phone?

iPhone XR: Face ID failure after water damage

I have an iPhone XR 64GB, and it was dunked in about 4 inches of water for about a minute about 3 months ago. Around 30 minutes after the dunking, the rear camera and Face ID stopped working. The rear camera started working again, but Face ID has not started working since, displaying the message "A problem was detected with the truedepth camera. Face ID has been disabled."

Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? Maybe removing the front camera assembly on the housing? I have removed the front earspeaker assembly that is connected to the display for about 2 weeks to dry, but Face ID still currently doesn't work. I am aware that the sensor is paired to the logic board and therefore it is impossible to replace. Unfortunately, I am also aware that apple will not fix the iPhone if the LCI indicators have turned red, which is unfortunately the case. Is there anything else I can do to this iPhone or is it done for? All other functions work on the iPhone.

I would also like to mention that the iPhone was in no way taken apart or tampered with before the dunking. There were also no visible cracks and was in pristine condition, so it was water resistant.

iPhone XR: Buggy And Laggy iPhone

So I recently repaired the motherboard on my iPhone XR at a store close to where I live, when I got it back however it started acting somewhat strange. A couple of examples are apps not working or being frozen the first few seconds when I start them. A couple of examples are the camera app, Instagram, TikTok, and Spotify. The volume buttons are sometimes also a bit slow only turning up/down the sound 2 or maybe 3 seconds after pressing. I updated my iPhone to the latest release, but could it be something else?

iPhone XR: Screen Unresponsive, Ghost Touch

My daughter's iPhone XR started developing some weird symptoms where without input, it opens up apps, scrolls between screens, etc... After some googling, found that this is referred to as ghost touch or something. Couldn't find what the fix is to this problem though.

I tried resetting the iPhone to factory settings, even tried doing a reset/restore in DFU mode, to no avail. I wanna say this is maybe a hardware issue with the display (digitizer/glass) more so than a software issue. She had a case on it from day 1 but did drop it a few times, and even had a small crack on the screen towards one corner, not too bad though.

This being the case, I'm willing to replace the display myself, but before I shell out $100 on a new one, I wanted to see if anybody else experienced this issue and if so, did replacing the display fix the problem?

iPhone XR: Not getting a display on the iPhone xr

So this customer came in and said he damaged his screen and it wont turn on but you can still tell the phones on because it will vibrate and you can hear siri, so we did a screen replacement but still no display, so we used a cracked screen that we use for testing and removed the back covering on it to shine a flashlight under it to see if we get any display, (forgot to mention that the backlight was not coming on with any of the screens we tried thats why we did the flashlight method which we have done before to get data off an iphone 6) so the phone turned on but you dont see the apple logo, you only see lines from when it was damaged before but then the phone turns on (vibrates) but u still get no display, the only picture u get is lines (from the flashlight we were using to give the device light) I tried a few other spare xr screens and im getting the same issue. The customer is only trying to get data off the phone but our issue is we arent having any luck getting a display. (we also connected it to a computer just to make sure it was on and you can hear the phone vibrate indicating its asking you to give permission to the laptop to access your phone) can anyone help me out please?

iPhone XR: iPhone XR Back Glass Replacement

So I’m just about to replace the back glass on an iPhone XR that I bought. I’ve seen a couple of people gutting the phone completely and some people leaving the unit intact. I have no problem taking the entire phone apart as I’m quite experienced with mobile repairs. I’m using a combination of heat and IPA to take off the glass. My question is, is it necessary to gut the entire phone for this repair? I can understand taking out the battery but what about all the other components?
