My iPhone X stopped charging through the lightning port but it still charged wirelessly. I tried cleaning the port, removed the lint etc but still nothing. I finally decided to change the lightning cable and ordered it. Installation seemed to go well but went I went to power on the phone the lightning cable still didn’t charge or read the usb cable. But the phone still charges wirelessly. Any idea on what I could do to fix?

iPhone X: Face ID issues after battery replacement (move a little higher/lower)

So after replacing my battery Face ID is no longer able to register my face always saying to move the phone a little higher and then to move the phone a little lower in a loop. I believe the issue is the dot projector. Heres what i’ve tested so far:

putting the original battery back in

cleaning all connectors

reseating back cameras

taking out the sensor module containing the front camera and putting it back in

reseating and cleaning everything on the sensors connected to the screen

called apple support who ran diagnostics and said that they didn’t see any issues with the hardware

cleaned the dot projector with isopropyl alcohol

The front camera and back cameras still work as well as the proximity sensor and ambient light sensor. I also used an old camera to see that the flood illuminator was lighting up. The only thing that refuses to light up is the dot projector. Thanks for the help!

iPhone X: iPhone X Reboots Every Few Minutes After Lightning Port Replacement

Hey guys - here's a weird one I'm having. I replaced a broken charge port on my iPhone X with a 3rd party connector from online. The phone has now started rebooting every 3-5 minutes. As in I can use the phone, everything functions, all services work, but somewhere around that 3-5 minute mark the thing just reboots.

Black -> apple logo -> home screen.

Even weirder, I can log into the phone, use it for a minute or so, and if I lock the phone and leave it idle it does not reboot. So I can periodically use it and it's fine. But if I use it for 3-4 mins it auto reboots. Has anyone experienced this before?

Have tried a hard reset, haven’t tried any software related resets as I figured that everything on the software side of things should be fine as the phone was working perfectly fine prior to the repair (minus the charging port that got damaged).

I don’t know if doing a reset is a good idea as I don’t know if this boot loop will occur when in a recovery environment.

If anyone has any info about getting debug information related to the reboots that would be great as I'd really like to know the cause... Every screw was pulled from and put back into it's proper place so I don’t believe a ribbon cable tear is an issue here...

I’ve seen other mentions of similar occurrences here but nobody seems to have an answer or has updated their posts with what they did to solve the issue.

I have a high quality microscope and extensive knowledge in microsoldering should that be needed.

Thanks for your help.

I have an iPhone X that can accept and make calls, can see the cell network, and log into the WiFi network, but cannot connect online with neither WiFi nor cell data. If I set the phone as a hotspot, the devices that connects to it can use the data online. Somehow, the phone just won’t connect. I’ve made sure the antenna is secure. I’ve reset all network settings.
iPhone X: Unable to activate after restore

The phone was ran over by a semi, and would freeze whenever you would try to unlock it with a passcode or face id. I have restored the phone to iOS 12.1 and now it says “Unable to reach activation server”. The phone does recognize the sim, and shows service, it just won’t activate. I have tried activating through iTunes, with no luck. 3uTools gets stuck for a few minutes on “Obtaining activation data”, then it says that it failed to activate. It is an AT&T phone, and we have already tried a new sim card. After swapping the boards out with another phone I have figured out that it is board level. What could be causing this in particular? I cannot see any damage to the board, however with the board being stacked, there could be damage that is not seen. Any help is appreciated.

It generally idles a degree or two more then room temp and charging it can warm up to even when not in use.

Already done all of the resetting and setup as new.

iPhone X: Why is my iPhone starting to heat up when I plug in a new battery?

Hi all, I have a problem with my IPhone X. It wouldn't turn on after overheating. This happened after I tried a few power adapters plugging in and out to test the plugs/cables (not clever). So it overheated - became extremely hot and I struggled to hold it then I put it out in cold weather and it cooled down and would not turn on. So I decided to change the battery, I have experience in taking phones apart so it wasn't an issue. I stuck in the battery and when I reconnected one of the battery plugs it immediately started to reheat on the right by the power button components - it seems that the phone isn't dead entirely. Would it be worth for me to replace the power plug ( charging port) or anything else?

I will leave it unplugged for now as I know it is a hazard. Thank you!
