iPhone X: iPhone X Face Id after Screen replacement

Hello everybody

I had my iPhone water damaged lately and I got it out of the water working then it started to restart in a loop, so I just turned it off and let it dry for about 4 hours, after that I tried to turn it on, it worked perfectly but face id was not working, I could see moisture in the front and camera lenses so I put it in rice all the night . Then in the morning I tried to turn it on , it did but after 5 min the screen went yellow and black bars appeared all over the screen and then it just turned off, but I can still hear sound effects like charging effect . so I knew that the screen just died .i decided to repair it.

If I replace the screen what else should I replace to make the face id work again, Many people said that whatever I do I cant get the face id again unless I take the phone to apple .

PS I live in Lebanon where there are no apple stores sadly.

iPhone X: Purple spots on the screen is sign of damaged or faulty new screen?

Hi Techs,

We replaced brand new iPhone X screen a few months back. And 20 days after using that iPhone X, customer complaint that there were few purple spots appear on the screen and in few hours or days whole screen goes blank but phone is ON on the back.

I believe that purple spots on the screen after few weeks of using the screen is clearly sign of accidental damaged by the customer and hence it does not valid for warranty claim. Sometime, whether consciously or unconsciously screen LCD may get hard press or damaged unknowingly or unconsciously.

I ask you that what do you think on this why these purple spots started to appear after few days or weeks of replacing new screen ?

Thanks

iPhone X: OLED Display and TrueTone … IF377-051-4 …

I noticed that the repair guide for a screen replacement includes a screen clone step that restores TrueTone.

First. Do I accept the fact that TrueTone is gone forever? Next. Is this cloning process effective and restores TrueTone? No repair shops seem to have the cloner device furthermore they state it isn’t necessary. Finally. If this cloner is not a scam, would I expect iFixit to have these for order?

Thanks. IFixit is a great resource.

iPhone X: Phone Not Recognizing Sim Card

Hi there

I have an iPhone X that is not seeing the sim card. The real problem I’m having is that the Apple online chat turned it into a brick! Before their “handiwork” at least I could use everything except the cell service!

One day the phone stopped seeing the sim card. I did the usual - turning off/on etc. Didn’t fix the problem.

I was on the online chat with Apple who assured me that the problem would be solved with a full phone reset. I did this…and you guessed it, the phone didn’t see the sim card. Not only that, but the phone now can’t be activated. It sits with the “It may take a few minutes to activate your iPhone” message for some time and then says it’s unable to activate.

Obviously I’d like to get the cell service working as well as activating the phone.

The phone has not been in water. It has a small bit of damage to the rear glass, but this was done months before the sim card problem.

My bills are of course paid and the cell service is active. This is proved by putting my sim card in another working handset and a known working sim card in my handset.

If anyone could recommend a solution, that would be great.

Thank you for your help in advance!

Wifi signal is very low also.

Also what is the little golden bracket for on the inside right side of screen?

Hello

my iPhone felt down ( very good one)

when I got it the screen was ok

when I try to unlock the screen through side button, it unlocks

but screen is irresponsive to touch

I can’t touch for like a one minute

after several trails of pushing the side button to open and close the screen finally it responds and then touch screen becomes perfect and fast until I lock the screen again

I tried to update the phone

force locking it , tried removing screen protectors

but nothing

but it seems like a hardware issue somehow because it started after the fall immediately

I called someone to fix it ( no apple store in my area) he suggested to replace the screen, and I don’t think I will need to change the screen , As it looks intact and eventually responds very good

maybe just to get it removed and placed again ?!

now few times a day the problem is not there

but most of time it’s there

iPhone X: Did apple lock the screen programed to the cpu?

So I did some research about the touch id sensors and how apple locked them to the logic board. I did more research about the X, and I read somewhere that apple locked the face recognition from the screen to the logic board. Meaning, if I were to repair a broken iPhone X screen either, 1, the screen won't have functionality? or, 2, the face recognition won't function? can someone please answer this question... What i'm asking is if i replace a iPhone X screen, will the face recognition still work... bc I heard that they tided the restriction to the screen itself.

iPhone X: iPhone X randomly bootloop

My iPhone X got water damaged and was sent to the service center. After a long period of time, they returned it to me "repaired." They told me that something in the charging segment had been replaced, but it still didn't work properly. It would work fine for a whole day and then randomly go into a bootloop the next day. I noticed that it was getting extremely hot near the cameras, so I reported it. A week passed, and it was returned to me. It was in a bootloop again, but they fixed the issue with the overheating near the cameras. It's worth mentioning that these bootloops occur once or twice a day, so it's somewhat better. I managed to retrieve the logs, and it seems that there's a problem with the l2c line.
