I was about to turn in for the evening & I was about to plug in my iPhone X. No lights were on, except for the glow of the tv.

I was about to insert the iPhone X’s Lightning cable in; it was literally at the opening of the charging port, when I thought I saw a spark. I didn’t insert the cable. Upon looking again, I thought I just saw the dull reflection of the tv’s lights on the metal edges of the Lightning cable.

I inspected the cable and the pins were perfectly fine - no black residue. The metal edge of the Lightning cable had some black on it, but my finger was able to wipe it away as if it was just dirt, debris.

I know there won’t be a definitive answer to my question, but from your experiences - do you think I saw a spark, or just a reflection of light off of the metal edges of the lighting cable? Also, the opening of the iPhone X’s charging port - is it plastic, or metal? I thought that might play a role if static discharge was an issue.

A few things worth noting: I wear glasses, but as I was plugging the iPhone in, I wasn’t wearing them (my vision isn’t too terrible). I did eventually plug the iPhone X in and it charged just fine (the cable and charger seemed proper).

When I replace the display with a new LCD, then I screw the tape with (speaker-microphone-face id etc), while recording the front camera I hear a slight squeaking in the background. But when the tape is on the outside of the screen, it is all ok. Is it maybe some kind of lack of grounding in the screen? Is there any method to change it? (in the original display everything is fine) Any suggestions or help are welcome.

I am a brand spanking new newbie when it comes to electronics repair but i'm very excited to learn board repair. I purchased the Hakko FX888D to practice soldering on dummy boards and will probably continue to use it for some time.

My question: What are the best tips to use with this station for micro soldering? A part number would be great or a link on ebay even better!

My main concern, then, is essentially whether or not I’ll need to reball literally the entire perimeter of the board once I engage in this separation or if the balling is simply there to help keep everything together, and a few joints here or there that aren’t 100% perfect won’t affect the functionality of the device. If it’s the former then I might just have to skip the X when it comes to board level repairs, because that’s a level of commitment that’s far and above what was required for previous models of both Iphone AND Android phones.

As an addendum: If anyone does have advice for actually doing the IC replacement as well those comments are also welcome.

My last battery was ( maybe) faulty and was always at 100% or dead

I then did buy an new one and the new shows 0% even when its charged using an external battery charger the phone is restarting every 5 minutes or so

your iphone is damaged forever you we cant fix it !

and during corona virus the apple service in my country are locked

and all the professionals mobile phone repair service in my city think it is damaged for ever

but new problem is up! the face id does not work because its damaged because of the water.. so i have ordered that part from here

I have an iphone x and was trying to replace my screen. On the left is the screen i received - it seems to have support brackets all the way around and does not fit my phone. However, my original screen does not have these brackets and is flat all the way around. Does anyone know what my problem is + why my iphone x seems to be different than the normal one?

if this is the correct screen…how are these tabs supposed to fit into what looks to be a flat bracket covering?

also comparing other iphones online, mine looks to be a bit different with this top area as well? anyone know whats going on here?

I've opened the phone several times, unplugging and cleaning the display and battery connectors before reconnecting them. Each time, the touch functionality returns but only for a few hours before it stops working again. The last time, I only unplugged and reconnected the battery cable, and the touch started working again, but the issue returned after a few hours. I also ran diagnostics using 3uTools and received the error "Problem connecting CPU and peripherals Panic CPU x caller."

Could this be a hardware issue with the replacement parts, or is there something else I should investigate? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
