iPhone 7 Plus: Boot Looping after firmware upgrade

Hi

I have an iPhone 7 Plus which didn’t have any known physical issues up to now. The other night I installed the latest Apple software on my phone and then straight after the attempted software update (big mistake!) my iPhone went into a continuous boot loop where the Apple logo is constantly displayed.

i took the phone to the Apple Store Genius Bar and as I guessed they were just following a set script in terms of the useless help they try to give customers. they advised I either update the software or restore the phone which wipes all content. Restore is not an option for me as my data is not backed up so after trying the update option and waiting 20 mins for it to complete, turns out it failed to

resolve the boot loop issue.

i took the phone to my local iPhone repair shop who

talked a lot more sense and they said I need to get the ic chip repaired but I wanted to check with any of you who have had the same issue if this is the correct thing to do?

thanks

iPhone 7 Plus: Did I fry my motherboard?

I was replacing the back of an iPhone 7 Plus for a friend cus he bananad his phone. After a really clean disassembly and assembly right before I put the last two Shields on (by the camera for the lcd connector and the other by the battery pin connector) I wanted to make sure the phone would power up. It Turned it on but… I turned the phone off like normal and in the process of putting on the last shield (by the battery pin connector) I dropped a screw on the bored and saw a little spark (yes, I forgot to disconnect the battery for this last step!) . Seeing that scared the $#!t out of me so instead of finishing what I was doing i tried to turn on the phone and nothing. No power, no life at all. Please tell me it’s an easy cheap fix!

iPhone 7 Plus: iPhone stuck on boot loop after lighting port replacement

I just replaced the charging port and tapic engine and now my phone is stuck in a boot loop. I went back and disconnected the front camera, home button, and doubled checked all connections. The only thing I noticed is that I did lose some screws during the process of checking things due to my children messing around and dropped the loose parts onto the carpet. I have ordered a screw kit which I’m hoping the issue is just the missing screws.

iPhone 7 Plus: Water Damage and Warranty questions?

Hello everyone, so today my I phone 7 plus got water damaged and there was condensation on the camera lens in the back, plus it would not turn on. Since I bought it second hand I didn't think the warranty would be there so I decided to crack it open and see if I can dry it out. However while doing so, the screen flex cable ripped. I later discovered that My phone is still under warranty and I have no Idea what to do. Should I replace the lcd and the seals, or just reseal the iphone with new seals and send it in for repairs? Please help.

iPhone 7 Plus: Home button won't work after glass replacement but touch ID does

Hi there,

Just replacement my iPhone 7+ front assembly today. Had to trouble shoot a few things along the way, but the oddest thing is happening now. The home button isn't working but touch ID/finger print is working. For example I can hit the power button and then place my finger on the home button and my iPhone will unlock but pressing it won't do anything. Any ideas? I've tried a reset (power + volume down button for 10 seconds) but that doesn't seem to do the trick.

Ideas?

iPhone 7 Plus: *help* problems after repair

So, I was restoring an iPhone 7 Plus. I replaced the Chassis, LCD and Battery.

I transferred literally everything over from the old chassis to the new one, same with the LCD. I come to power on the device and I’m hit with a bootloop. After about 5 minutes of boot looping, it turns on BUT it says Searching at the top and my battery is showing 1% (on the new and old battery, I’ve tested both). It is not charging at all and whenever I turn it off, it goes back to boot looping.

I’ve tried the old lcd and battery but no luck there. The front camera flex is fully connected, I even tried when it was disconnected! What is happening?!

Bearing in mind, the phone was fully functional before I started this repair.

iPhone 7 Plus: black screen after battery replacement iPhone 7 plus

Hey guys, I replaced the battery in my iphone 7 plus. The phone was working properly before, but the battery life was low, so I decided to try to replace it. I performed the replacement which seemingly went well. Trying to power the phone on doesn't appear to do anything. Connecting a charger and trying to power the phone on the screen stays black. The home button haptic feedback is working, so it would seem that it must have power. I did not disconnect the screen as part of the battery change, and I took the phone back apart a second time to check all connections.

iPhone 7 Plus: Why cant people hear me on phone calls after replacing my screen?

Hi! so my phone has recently been through the works. i replaced the oem screen with one from amazon because it broke. that screen was terrible quality so i bought one from this site instead. but prior to buying this screen from here i replaced my charging port cable because it stopped charging all together one day - also from amazon. Everything is installed at this point and the only issue with my phone is the top speaker wasn’t working unless I put pressure on it. Now that I’ve purchased a better quality screen from ifixit my speaker works! Yay! BUTTTTTT during phone calls people cant hear me, they say they hear 1 out of 5 words as if im going in and out. Now I’ve talked to siri, talk to text, video and voice memos and my mic seems to be perfectly fine. Why is it that people cant hear me?? i called myself from another phone and i can hear myself going in and out on the receiving end… help much appreciated!

iPhone 7 Plus: Unable to get into my own phone after update.

Hey all. I am hoping someone can tell me either what to do, or how to get out of this mess. So I bought this Iphone 7plus from a posting on craigs list. I am very aware of people trying to sell stolen phones and phones where they owe money. I lucked out and found this phone from an older gentleman who had just bought the X and wanted to sell his 7+. So after i verified the phone was completely legit, I bought it from him. I used the phone for about 2 months then in middle of March, it did an ios update. when the phone came back on, it looks like it took everything to do with me, out of the phone, has the original phone owner info up, has his email address and wants his password. I have tried literally everything I can think of to try to get out of this loop. But because I do not know the mans password or entire email acct that the phone thinks is the owner still... I cannot use the phone at all. I am not the most tech savvy person in the world. I just want my phone back. It is now locked, and I cannot do anything until i put in the previous owners password. I have tried and tried to find this man, even had taken out several adds on craigslist trying to reach him. Short of actually ever accomplishing that... What options do i have now? is the phone just totally unusable now? I paid 400 bucks for this phone to only get 2 months of usage. I sincerely hope someone has a solution for me that can get me out of this icloud lock. Has this happened to anyone else after an IOS update? Does anyone know who i could contact to get me my phone back? Is it even possible to wipe the phone completely and get the previous owners info out of my phone forever so this never happens again? Please someone help!

hey guys I have bought a 7 plus yesterday and what I have noticed is that the ring on the home button is a little bit raised or sticking out on top and perfectly aligned on other sides, it works fine though the touch, the taptic engine. Should i return the phone and get other one or is it okay and I continue using it. will it get damaged or failed?

iPhone 7 Plus: Is my iPhone 7 Plus worth the repair?

I had my cracked screen replaced on my iPhone 7 Plus about a year ago. It was done by a third party repair shop, not Apple. I had minor issues with the touch; nothing that I could not work with and ignore. It does tend to heat up doing minor tasks and especially with a cover (that I never had an issue with with my 6 Plus, and still don’t). Makes me think that there may be some hardware damage, but I am not sure. Recently, within the last two months, the screen started going black, with some pixels of white in a small line on the screen, but not in the same place each time. Then would go to the startup screen with the Apple on it. It keeps doing this when I use it. This phone is a lease and it’s about time to return it. My predicament is that I won’t be able to lease or finance another phone, so paying the $130ish to buy the phone and repairing it, may be cheaper than buying a new one (almost $800 for the same phone, not ready to get the 8 or X). It is a 256GB Rose Gold iPhone 7 Plus. Given the symptoms, should I even dare take it to Apple or another repair shop to see if it can be salvaged or is it not worth it? Thank you!
