Is there any science (yes) behind what i can and cannot use in my phone? Cotton for example.

I am working on a iphone 6s. I have an issue when installing the LCD. When i install it and put on the plates the screen still works. But when i click in the screen it stops working. So the screen only works when loose in the frame and not mounted correctly. When i pop off the screen it still does not fire up again

I have tried the following

• pressing the powerbutton and home button at the same time.
• Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting ( atleast making the LCD work again)
• Using another original LCD (still not working).
• Reapplying the connectors for both LCD and battery
• Tried without plates over both battery and LCD connectors
• tried without backplate.

The LCD will only work when not mounted all the way in the phone, and work without issues untill i install it completly.

Does anyone have experienced the same issue or have any idea how to solve it?

The issue is fixed. The grey/silver notch on the LCD flex cable made contact with the ear piece mounting bracket. I made some spacing between these two and now it is working perfectly! :D

The IMEI is still showing when I type in *#06# so I think the Baseband CPU IC is not the issue. I’ve tried all the basic fixes:

• Reset the network settings multiple times
• Full factory reset
• Updating to iOS 12 from iOS 11.4.1
• Updated carrier settings (although I initially ignored it when I was prompted but updated after the problem arose)
• Rocked the phone back and forth on my legs 5-10 times to resit the antenna. This gave me 1 bar for about a minute before going back to No Service
• Reconnected the antenna cables on the top side of the logic board
• Replaced the cellular antenna
• Reinserting the SIM card multiples times
• Restarting + Hard resets lots of times
• Addressed time + date issues
• Toggled airplane mode multiple times

Also the gyroscope is slightly off, the compass doesn't turn and the level doesn’t work, but the screen rotates just fine. I’m not sure how relevant this is though.

I’ve concluded that it has to be a hardware issue as I’ve tried all the software fixes. The only thing I haven’t changed that could be related is the dock connector of which the lightning port and the headphone jack are slightly flaky. The water indicator is also red but everything else apart from the gyroscope is working.

I’m not sure what to do now as I’ve exhausted all the potential basic possibilities. Is there anything else that I could try? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First I replaced battery for branded Apple - and phone wake up.

Next, I replaced flex cable with charging port and jack, because jack was not working - now it works.

Now everything is good except… very slow charging, and fast discharging. I’m using good quality Mcdodo cable, tried with every possible chargers and also other cables.

Can you tell me what could be faulty? Best advice would be, what should I measure to localize the issue. Any iPhone schematics source? Can it be just Tristar power management chip?

Please help :)

First-time inquirer…long-time reader. I’m a novice unpaid iPhone repair guy, having replaced 20-30 screens over the past several years. I’ve made bonehead moves, like not disconnecting power before replacing the LCD digitizer.

But this time, I believe I made a clean replacement of a screen for an iPhone 6s. After replacement, the new screen did not respond at all to touch. Since the old screen was functional, I returned all components to the original LCD, thinking I had a bad new screen.

After putting it back as before, the old screen will not respond fully to touch. By that I mean I can attempt to unlock the phone by pressing the key pad, but the privacy-protected digits would not light up. Not only that, but the code i KNOW is correct will NOT unlock the phone. When trying to power down, the slider will FINALLY power down after multiple tries…most of the time.

In other words, I can’t get into the phone. I’ve tried rebooting but nothing. I have NOT tried a hard reset since I do not know if all the data is backed up from this phone or not. Any other suggestion?

After one screen break, I watched YouTube at home (I did not know ifix at that time). After a few months after the repair was successful, I felt that the battery could not function properly and replaced it. However, after replacing the battery, I covered the liquid crystal again and a black line appeared, so I assembled again and I heard only the sound and the screen did not turn on. I want to solve this phenomenon, but it seems to be selling the part in ifix. What part would solve my problem? I have about 10 repair experience, but I do not even know what parts I need to buy in case of a breakdown. I also apologize in advance for the lack of English language skills and the lack of sophistication in terms of word order and vocabulary

i have an iphone 6s with a really strainge problem. it stays blank and no any respond (no display, no mute vibrate, etc. , but when connected to pc, i see usb disk. how to get this iphone 6s back to normal state. what i already tried is to very well charge the phone and to press home and power keys, but still no any life in the device, only usb disk. i do absolutely not want to open this phone and/ or update it. it was bought especially for the ios 10 on it.

So i have a weird problem, i have a 6s that that had already a aftermarket screen, everything was working (inc Touch ID), but the LCD start to had issues so i had to replace it, now the problem is, i lost Touch ID but the weird part is:

- If i use old (bad lcd) touch id works

- If i try a new lcd Touch ID don’t work

- If i use the new LCD on a different 6s, the Touch Id of that different 6s works fine

I already tried to restore via iTunes but no success, any idea what might be''?

I recently replaced a battery and damaged the flex cable of the front camera assembly by removing the battery with the display still assembled. (moved the LCD sideways which teared 1mm of the flex cable in the bended corner).

As I didn’t have a spare flex cable, I reassembled the phone and noticed the rear camera and flashlight stopped working also.

I ordered a new front camera flex cable assembly, which fixed the earpiece speaker and front camera but the rear and flashlight still don’t work.

It’s not a water damage issue, it’s caused by assembling the phone I guess.

Can someone explain what happened and even better, solve the issue ;-)

I own a repair shop and do repairs on iPhone's for at last 3 years.

Now i got a iPhone 6s that drives me CRAZY!!!

A customer brought it in for a backlight damage, as always i checked the FL4211 for damage, none to bee seen also no burning, after i took of the CPU shield and the D4021 was a bit raised so i replaced it, after that the backlight came on and worked like a charm.

BUT, after the initial boot, the image on the screen was full of a pattern i have seen before, namely when you turn on a iPhone 6/6plus without the U2402 on. Vertical lines with some kind of checkered pattern.

I replaced 3 screens, cleaned the FPC, restored with latest os, nothing changed.

After i measured the "PP1V8_TOUCH_CONN" and here i found a open circuit, i made a strap on the "FL4209" and after that everything was in order with that line.

Still no touch function, i measured the following lines:

• "SPI_AP_TO_TOUCH_CS_L";
• "SPI_AP_TO_TOUCH_SCLK";
• "SPI_AP_TO_TOUCH_MOSI";
• "SPI_TOUCH_TO_AP_MISO";
• "TOUCH_TO_AP_INT_L";
• "AP_TO_TOUCH_CLK32K_RESET_L".

All of them give me a ~0.420V voltage drop to ground, no open circuit on any of them!

Also i mesured the "PP5V1_TOUCH_VDDH" when the phone was on and i got the 5.1V on that line.

I cannot understand what the problem is? Where am i missing something? There is no mechanical damage to the board, all SMD parts are in the right places.

Maybe someone has a ideea...

I wasnt originally attempting a board repair until this fell off so im worried that it might be something critical.

Really weird one this and I’m not 100% sure what testing can be done to figure this out, possibly testing certain voltages first?
