iPhone 6: How can I remove a striped pentalobe screw?

Hi all,

I have recently purchased an iPhone 6, 128gb space grey with a cracked screen. I need to remove the pentalobe screws to replace the screen and get the phone up and running.

Unfortunately the previous owner has completely stripped one of the pentalobe screws and I can not remove it with the correct tools. The screw has no shape left whatsoever (see photo) and will not grip at all.

I have tried different shaped screw drivers, the rubber band method and a stanley knife. I have heard to try super glue but I am scared it will seep into the thread and make it harder to remove. What is the best method to remove the screw?

iPhone 6 Plus: Speaker phone option is greyed out

I have had this issue before, took it to a cell phone repair shop & it was an easy fix..but I can not remember how they fixed it. I don't want to take it anywhere due to it being this easy. The speaker phone button is greyed out when making/receiving calls, which means when someone tries to call or vice versa I can not hear. My music and videos play with sound just fine-the volume is turned all the way up with the ringer being ON.

I have reset network settings and reset all settings and still nothing. Can someone please give me a helpful, real solution to fix this problem?? I have searched all over the internet and found nothing helpful.

iPhone 5: iPhone5 display randomly goes black.

My iPhone5 is out of warranty (2 Years old). My problem is that my display goes black after some usage (on average less than a minute time). I think this is not the normal display problem of black scree. I have already done home+power restart, restore/update to latest software.

History of problem: One day my phones display suddenly went black. I googled and quickly found the home+power button solution. Upon restart my display was on for some time and then again went black. After that since last 15 days my phone display goes black after some random amount of time and then after waiting for some time and pressing power button it again turns for some time and then again goes black. The more I wait the longer my display stays on after turning on. I can receive calls and messages etc when the display is blank. Another piece of information that I think is the major to pinpoint the problem is that, 3 months ago some my phone got some water damage after I was drenched in rain and there were some white spots on the display due to that. The amount of water was very less and My phone was working fine except those annoying small white spots. I want to repair my phone myself as there are not many good service options in my country but I am not sure if it is a display problem or some other chip/cable problem. If anyone has a clue what could be the exact problem that would be a life save for me.

iPhone 5: iPhone 5 front camera wont work after front screen replacement.

I run an iPhone repair business in the UK, so I do have a reasonable amount of experience with these devices and until iOS 7 came out I had no issues with this problem I am about to explain. A customer came into the store yesterday with a broken screen and power button on the iPhone 5. So I replaced the power button flex to fix the button and replaced the screen with an original part. But then when I turned the phone back on everything worked perfectly apart from the front camera. I have sent my customer away to restore the device and then Im sure he will be back if it doesnt work, but does anyone know a fix for this? (I am always extra careful when removing the digitizer and camera flex cables, and yes I have checked if its plugged in correctly three times.)

iPhone X: Help me diagnose iPhone X Face ID move iPhone a little lower

Hi! I have an iphone x with face id and selfie camera portrait mode not working. For the moment I don't know if any of the internal components were changed or not.

Here is what I know:

face id fails to detect a face during the setup process. Keeps sending the two messages: move iphone a little lower/higher

Animoji works ok though

Flood illuminator also works as I can see it with an older camera

Proximity sensor and autobrightness are functionally

Attention thing works (when picking up the phone it turns display on if it detects any human face)

Front camera works (without any blur) aside from the portrait mode (It says move further away and only takes a normal photo)

Back camera works ok, portrait mode is functioning

Phone has liquid indicator turned red (unfortunately I haven't saw this before buying it)

The phone seems to have been opened up before as the adhesive was loosen whet I opened it up.

I have tried to clean the dot projector and the infrared camera along with the lens on the front glass but without luck

I have tried also the DFU restore, and every type of reset

Iphone is running ios 12.3

My question is that if the display is changed without transferring the other components from the glass assembly, will iphone send the faceid unavailable error or it could just never let you setup it like in my case?

Has anybody been able to repair an iphone x with these symptoms?

Thanks a lot!

iPhone 5s: Rear camera and flash don't work

Greetings! First post here.

Recently, while in the dark, I noticed that my flashlight (camera flash) on my iPhone 5S was no longer working when activated from the control center. I then began to debug it by rebooting, resetting and then finally by upgrading from iOS8 to iOS9. None of these fixed my problems but during the investigation, I noticed that the rear camera was no longer working as well. After some internet searching I do not really have a clear idea of whats wrong, as such, is why I am here.

This is something that I would like to try and fix myself if possible but would like some ideas of what else could be wrong here and if there are any additional debug steps. After hopefully identifying the problem, I will likely need to purchase the part(s) and doing the repair... so any thoughts or advice here would be welcome as well.

Thanks in Advance.

iPhone 5: iPhone stuck in Recovery mode after Battery replacement.

Hey guys, i can't recommend replacing the battery of your iPhone yourself. I did it just as it is shown in the guide here, replaced the battery (did not scratch anything) gently, but now my iPhone is stuck in some sort of recovery mode loop. It only turns on when its connected to my computer. I have to restore it, but right after it has been restored it sets itself back in recovery mode. Putting it into DFU mode is not possible (since it shows only the "connect to iTunes logo"), exiting the Recovery mode with tiny umbrella or iReb doesn't work either. It sets it back but the loop continues. I tried everything (putting the old battery back in) but it still shows the same symptoms. Does anyone have an idea what to do?

So DONT do it. You can even loose the 250$ replacement iPhone for opening it.
