Hello,

I recently attempted a restore on a clients iPad after it was presented to me with the restore screen. The restore attempt took many hours and I ended up leaving it running overnight. The next morning the device was powered down and refuses to power on at all now. Have attempted numerous button combos to try and get it running again but nothing has worked so far.

Is there any hope for repairing this iPad or is it hard bricked at this point?

iPad 6 Wi-Fi: Dead section on screen, digitizer replacement didn't help

Hi

Got the kid a ipad 6th generation like two years ago. I think he have dropped it at some point, there’s a dent on the backside. After that, a small section of the screen are not responding to touch-inputs, it’s like a cross-section on the left part of the screen.

I tried to replace the digitizer today, as I thought it got knocked up when he dropped it. No cracks or anything, but it’s couldn’t hurt. But of course it didn’t help. Is there anything I can do to save it somehow, or is it just lost?

Thanks a lot for any kind of support!!

iPad 6 Wi-Fi: Touch ID/ Home Button issue after repair

Hey Guys,

I replaced a screen for an Ipad 6th gen. The screen wasn’t original but i transferred the original home button with touch id. The home button works, and the iPad expects touch id, (it said unavailable with generic button), and asks me to place my thumb. However, the sensor reads nothing, and it isn’t working. My placement isn’t perfect, and i will be fixing the button to sit properly. Is there any specific reason it isn’t working? Perhaps there are some connection points which aren’t touching due to non-proper positioning?

Thanks anyways.

because of remote learning.
minutes and still nothing. tried pressing and holding the power button for 1 minute and nope. really stuck because my parents don’t want to pay $300 to get it fixed/replaced. double checked and all the cables and connectors are in right . nothing is broken or damaged.

iPad 6 Wi-Fi: iPad 6 knocked 2 small components off during Tristar repair

Hi all,

I recently got an iPad 6th Gen for cheap as it didn’t turn on at all. I’ve been learning Microsoldering so wanted to take on the task! Straight away stuck a new battery in it, found that it did turn on however wouldn’t charge. I took multimeter readings from the charge port and i’m confident that the charge port isn’t the issue. Next point of call was to replace the Tristar chip, which i’ve now removed from the board. In doing so, I dislodged 2 small components next to tristar. Does anyone have any more info on what they are? Any components names/number would be ideal! There’s a lack of board schematics for this device so i’m a little in the dark. Yet to recieve the new chip, but want to nail down what i’ve knocked off first so i can sort that out.

Any info would be brilliant. Is this a component i could potentially pull from another board or not? Or even leave out all together?

Thanks again
