Whirlpool Washing Machine: My mom’s washer is loud

My mom is having the same symptom with her washer as me, hers is a Whirlpool Cabrio model WTW5500BW0.

She says it’s been very loud on the spin cycle without it being off balance, and I came over and it sounded like a jet engine just like on my own machine (WTW4900BW0).

Whirlpool Washing Machine: Washing Machine won't drain!

My front loading LG washing machine keeps stopping at spin cycle and then I get a message to drain the machine. I drain it from the hose bottom left front of machine. I get over a bucket water out of machine when i get message to drain. I then start the machine again and it does the same thing. I pulled the plug hoping to reset the machine but after spin cycle it still does the same thing. Could it be the pump? I've checked all hoses and there is no clog.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Whirlpool Washing Machine: How do I know if my lid lock strike is broken?

I accidentally started to lift my washer lid before it unlocked and now all it does is fill with water and drain. It doesn't spin or agitate and the lid lock light is flashing. After a lot of Googling I think it's my lid lock strike. Is there any way to know if its broken before I start buying parts I don't need? The hook latch part that locks into the base feels very loose. Is that an indication that it's broken? I have no idea how it's suppose to look or function if it isn't broken. I ordered a new one but I hate to wait a wk for the new strike then find out that wasn't the problem.

Thank you in advance!!!

Maytag or Whirlpool Centennial washer: Washer sounds like it keeps running after final spin

After finishing all it's wash cycles, it sounds like it keeps running. It's motor sound that could be the pump but doesn't sound like it's from there necessarily . It will stop for a few seconds if I turn the agitator, but then continues until I unplug it. When I plug it in again the noise starts up after a short while. Tried recalibrating.

Update (03/16/25)

Last night the washer ran through the wash cycle then shut off without entering a rinse. After that I tried to do a rinse and spin cycle, but the pump wouldn't stop running so unable to fill th tub. Then tried to start a new washing, but the pump just kept running and wouldn't allow it to fill. Gave up and went to bed.

Whirlpool Washing Machine: Water comes out of the hole that my drain pipe goes into

Whirlpool Cabrio

All of a sudden, whenever my washing machine drains, water comes out of the hole that the drain pipe goes in to. My friend came over and snaked it in case there were any blockages and found none. I poured in some Drano, and when that was finished put my garden hose in the hole. The water came right up to my finger but didn't overflow. I was going to call a plumber, but then I read online that it could be that the water is coming out too quickly from my washing machine. I've never had a problem with this before. Could this be an issue with the washing machine? I don't want to call a plumber out for nothing and I don't have any issues with my plumbing anywhere else in the house. This is a very old washing machine

My Washer Model WTW7500GW0 runs through a wash cycle but does not get the End Of Wash Cycle command needed to turn off power and release the Lid.
LSQ8520JQ0: Whirlpool LSQ8520JQ0 doesn't spin unless manually spun

Model: LSQ8520JQ0

Hi everyone, I've been having this issue on and off for a few months now where my clothes are completely soaked after their wash.

Today I put up a stick to hold the lid up to take a peek inside while it runs. The agitator works. It started to spin for a few seconds during the first spin cycle, but then it stopped. It didn't spin when the high spin cycle started unless I manually started to spin it with my hand. After it was done I decided to try manually putting it back to the high spin cycle and it spun on its own.

Then I ran my second load. It spun on its own during the first drain cycle and during the high spin cycle. Just like normal.

Anyone know why? Thanks!

Whirlpool Washing Machine: Whirlpool Washer water is always hot

We were given an older whirlpool washer. We replaced the hoses when we hooked up the machine. The water is always hot. There is water being pulled from both the hot and cold hoses. If I set the washer to COLD it stops, nothing happens. If I set it to COOL nothing happens. If I set it to WARM it will start filling and then I can switch it to COOL, but regardless it is always hot water even if it is pulling from both hoses.

This Whirlpool is older and it doesn’t have a computerized screen or anything.

Does anyone happen to know what is going on? Because of this issue we went through 100 gallons of oil in 2 months, which is really bad for us. I really want a way to wash in cold water. It has come to a finacle point that is is cheaper to go to a laundry mat or someones home than use our oil to wash clothes. 5 kids here, really need a working washer!

Whirlpool Washing Machine: My Whirlpool Washer tub is Banging against the side on spin

I have a 4-year-old Whirlpool WTW5000DW0 washing machine. A repairman came out 3 times over the first 4 years to address extreme vibration that would walk the washer across the floor and kept saying the machine just needed to be leveled. He would level it, but the washer kept vibrating, although not as bad. Two more visits for the same thing and the same diagnosis and the same attempt to level and the same results. The warranty ran out 6 months or so ago. A month ago the tub started banging against the shell wall making the washer shake violently. I researched and checked the suspension rods. They needed replacing, so I replaced them a month ago. The machine was quieter than it had been in a long time. We were gone for 2 weeks in which the washer did not get used, but now, it’s back to banging against the shell wall and shaking violently and the suspension rods need replacing again. Is there something else that should be checked besides the suspension rods ? I’ve been looking but cannot find any information specific to this model. I’m thinking that if the suspension rods are going that quickly, even being very careful to level the machine and not put large loads in it, something else has to be going on. Any help would be soooo appreciated!!! Thanks!!
