Sony WH-1000XM5: Why is my touch sensor auto activating and can it be fixed.

The touch sensor in the right ear is self activating. Normally, when used the headphones will make a noise to signify that the touch pad has been touched. However, mine activate and make this noise with no one touching it. It's as if it's being spammed sometimes and it is absolutely mind numbingly infuriating. I have the touch sensors capabilities turned off because it would pause and unpause my music, however this sound is still present and I am losing patience with them. I love these headphones and want this problem resolved.

Sony ULT WEAR: Faint High-Pitched Noise in my headphones

I'm experiencing an issue with my Sony headphones. Both my ULT Wear and WH-CH720N occasionally produce a faint high-pitched noise at varying tones after any sound has been played and the headphones become completely silent. The noise disappears as soon as audio starts playing again.

This issue does not happen all the time; it only occurs occasionally. It only happens when both Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Ambient Sound mode are turned off.

My WH-CH720N headphones are approximately 7 months old, and my ULT Wear headphones are about 3 weeks old. I didn't notice the sound on the CH720N until I noticed it on the ULT Wear.

Hello all,

Today I was surprised when I turned on my headphones when I noticed that noise cancelling did not work on the right side.

Sound works fine and has no issues playing, they sound the same as they always did with noise cancelling turned off.

I already reset them, tried the calibration setting in the app but nothing worked.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Any troubleshooting steps?

Also, when I turn on noise cancelling the sound on the right is much louder than the left.

edit: after having switched around the mics, the effect is still the same.

Sony WH-1000XM6: Adjustable earmuff hyperextended out of headband; How do I care for it

The left earmuff on my XM6's can slide out of the headband after something retaining it broke. This seems to have been caused due to single ear usage or pulling off unequally.

Important; It's working otherwise!

The 2 earmuffs are wired together, but the wiring has this hard plastic casing that I assume runs the entire inside of the wire.

On the CT Scan (thank you SO much!) the XM6's have this orange cable running the inside. Mine are still intact at the ends.

The headphones can slide back into the headband but they are noticeably more loose than to start with. There is foam lining the inside of the headband that seems to have been torn from when the earmuffs disconnected.

Question; What can I do to care for these now vulnerable, loose adjustable arms?

Sony WH-XB910N: Plastic Headphone Storage Pivot is Shattered

Hi everyone,

I've owned this pair for over a year, and they're beginning to disintegrate. The 910N earphones fold inward for storage, as well as having an asymmetrical range of rotation. They can pivot about 15 degrees forwards, but 90 degrees backward so that the entire thing can become as slim as possible in it's carrying case. Unfortunately the plastic pivot point has broken on my left earphone. This has left it with only 10 degrees of the front rotation functioning before the earphone becomes detatched from the headband, dangling from the connecting cable. This is an issue for transporting it. I fear the connnecting cable becoming frayed or snapped due to this.

I enjoy the sound quality on this pair of headphones so I'd like to continue using them, but wearing them in becoming increasingly difficult as the broken hinge gets worse and worse over time.

Has anyone encountered this before? I'll try and post pictures when I can. Thanks
