PSP 2000: What should be done to get rid of dead pixels?

PSP 2000: My PSP won't charge

is there any ideas as to what might be the problem with my PSP. I had my PSP put up for awhile and when I got it back out I couldn't get it to charge, the battery had gone bad while it was put up it had swelled up so I bought a new battery online and a new charger because I can't find the original one. when I got the new battery it came back to life and worked fine but when I plugged in the charger it still wouldn't charge so I used Tue USB charger with my ps3 and it started charging so I left it alone awhile but when I came back to check it it was dead, wouldn't turn on or anything. I have no idea why it did that. When I plug in the wall charger the orange light does not come on even when I wiggle it because it is one that does not fit very well so I bought a new yellow charge port cable and replaced it thinking that could be the problem and bought another new charger, one the fits correctly and still nothing. I was able to borrow a battery from another PSP to check and see of mine would even turn on then and it did just fine so I know that it is something with the else. Like I said I replaced the yellow charge port cable already but I am wondering what else it could be. I have read something about a fuse and a few different things but I was hoping maybe someone would have a better idea what it could be before I started trying to replace everything or have to find somewhere to repair it. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it this is really irritating and I just want to get it fixed. any thoughts and ideas are welcome thanks.

Hello! I got this used PSP 2001 off of Ebay. I connected it to my laptop and may have accidentally deleted some or all operating system files (Unchecked "Hide Operating System Files). The system would turn on, but I couldn't open any of the system settings... Then, it shut off and refuses to turn back on.

When turned on, the green light lights up but the screen is black. If I turn it on with the R button pressed down, the backlight of the system lights up with the blank screen.

Is my psp bricked, or is it an internal problem?

Hello, my question is in the title.

The PSP (Mod. 200x) is operating completely normal. It was unused for many years now and when I turned it on the display was apparently not functioning. After I shone some light on it while on I could clearly see that the problem was not with the display but with the Backlight. I’ve read that many people just bridged it with soldering metal and it worked just fine so I want to bridge the fuse too but in order to do this I need to know which fuse exactly I need to bridge.

I will add some pictures of the Mainboard. What I’ve done: I disassembled the whole console, cleaned most contacts with Isopropyl Alcohol.

It’s confusing because I have seen many videos but most of them are with the 100x, 300x models or the PSP Go. And the sources I found on the 200x model (which I have) always mean different fuses to be bridged/fixed.

PSP 2000: The screen only turns black after having replaced it

When it worked, the screen had vertical lines going through it.

It turns on and sound comes through so it isn’t bricked.

I tried re-inserting the screen several times.

PSP 2000: PSP 2006 unable to detect battery but able to run on AC supply.

My PSP 2006 is unable to detect the battery (both newly replaced and old battery). When the psp is running on the ac supply with the battery in it (power indicator doesn’t light up), the battery information shows no percentage or other battery info but shows that power source is on external. May I know is there any solution to solve this issue? Or my psp is ready to go?

After a long time. I was not using my PSP for a long time because my memory stick broke. I tried to check it out. I charged it and changed my settings. I switched it off, after a while I Turned it back on but it won't. I removed the battery and plugged my charger and bam! turns off. I was relieved but when i removed the ac adaptor it turns off. Please help is it broken?

Hello, I am experiencing a strange issue where UMDs can only be read after a fresh firmware install. I’ve gone through all the troubleshooting guides I could find online and browsed the sub for similar problems, but I couldn’t find anything like this.

The laser seems to be working—it moves back and forth, as well as up and down. The discs spin fine initially, but I noticed that after the error appears once, the disc won’t spin again unless I completely shut the system off and turn it back on. Occasionally, if I remove the battery for a minute or two, it will read the games.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

PSP 2000: Why is my psp loading forever?

I recently opened up my psp 2000 and after replacing the joystick as it was broken it stopped loading UMD Discs. It has the loading icon but after about a minute it just says "disc could not be read" on a game that worked on it previously and my other psp. Did i disconnect something? Do i need to lube the gears as it's making a whirring noise now? Any help is appreciated.

PSP 2000: Psp 2001 not reading umd discs

This is a followup to a recent forum board post that I did. I have a psp 2001 series that isn't reading umd discs. The disk drive broke before covid started and I didn't know about ifixit.com. My psp has a umd disk drive KHM-420 BAA.

I changed the disk drive and my psp still isn't reading umd discs. What happens is that the system attempts to read the disc, the little animation symbol appears in the lower right hand corner, but the title of the disk never appears on screen. I have some ideas.

1) There is something else that I need to do after changing the umd disk drive

2) I got a bad part off of amazon

3) There is another hardware part besides the umd drive that reads umd disks.

4) I have an unsolvable problem.

I have replaced disk drives before. My psp isn't jailbroken in any way. I can do other things like see game saves, use the psp wifi. I can't imagine what the problem might be.

PSP 2000: Black screen, only shows green when no battery, but black screen alway

hi, i recently got my psp-2004 back from the attic, with another battery, cause the first one was dead, and i go to plug it in, and i find out that it shows no display and the green light does not turn on, when i take out the battery, plug it back in, it shows a green light, which turns off after like 5 seconds, and i still get a black screen.

The green light shines, and the menus give off sound when scrolling. Everything is pitch black though. Is my motherboard gone or the display itself?

This has been the problem for a long time and I've delayed fixing it for 2 years now. So it's probably the backlight does this mean I have to change the screen, or change the MOBO?
