Olympus Camera: Stylus Tough 6000 will not power on

I have a Stylus Tough 6000, it was working great until one day it just would not power on. I tried charging the battery and the light on charges changes to green but the camera will not turn on. I checked the battery with an ohm meter and it says it's charged. I even tried connecting the camera to my laptop via the USB cable and nothing, the laptop will not even recognize it, but I assume that's because it will not turn on.

Someone told me that perhaps it's the motherboard? Any ideas?

Olympus Stylus 725 SW: Camera on, screen blank, lens cover stays open-What to do?

Used the camera at the beach yesterday, and initially worked fine. Lens cover quite retracting, and I can't find anything stuck in it. The camera will turn on with a blank screen for 2-3 seconds, then turn off. I can review the pictures on the card, but nothing else. This is messing with my vacation big time, and any suggestions will be welcomed. I replaced the battery with a newly charged one, but didn't make any difference. I don't have any tools with me, but if needed,there is a Lowe's not too far away & I'm sure I should be able to find what I need. THANKS!!

When i switch on my camera up appears a black screen with a red square and written in red inside is write protect with an exclimation mark. I have read the manual and it tells me how to protect files but not how to undo the protection.I cannot take any photos and it won't let me delete any photos on the camera or plugged into the computer. Olympus Camera: How to tear down the front cover of Olympus E-PL3?

Greetings.

I have a Olympus E-PL3 that was found recently with a serious swollen battery. It is so bad that even the SD card is jammed. I tried referring to E-PL1 and E-PL7 guides for disassembling, but the front and rear cover just can’t separate easily like what these online guides showed, even all visible screws were removed.

It feels like some where on the top panel is still connected. Or, are them bound together with strong adhesives? (Ever tried a heat blower but they were still inseparable.)

Any tips on tearing down E-PL3 are much appreciated.

ok so I gave my brother my newly gotten Olympus and when he got it, he dropped it. after that I didn't know if it had broken or not, so I just put it on my desk. after a month I started actually looking at it and the mettle on the lens was bent and it would not close. I tried turning it on when I was done charging it and it would only turn on when I plugged it in. After that it would only be on the library mode.

Olympus Camera: How to fix Olympus Tough TG620 will not take photographs

The power button causes the screen to flash but will not turn on the camera. The play button turns on the camera but will only allow viewing images from the memory card. I cannot take photographs. But I can see all the menu options, set the clock, zoom images from the card etc. The battery is OK. It charges via the Olympus power cable and from a PC so I do not think the battery is an issue. Everything seems to work except taking photographs. Pressing the photo button does nothing. Pressing the power button makes the screen flash. Pressing the ? button shows the current date and time. Re setting the camera to factory settings does not help. What is the problem and possible solutions?

After following your directions for LCD replacement the LCD remains non-functional. There is a small grounding piece of metal which I cannot figure out where it came from. Your guide doesn’t mention this at all. I suspect it grounds motherboard somewhere.

Have a TG-5 (very similar to TG-3) that has worked fine, but now automatically powers off after a few seconds, with fully-charged battery or being plugged into adapter. BTW, it's never been submerged in water. Perplexing! Any suggestions (besides sending it to $$$ Olympus repair). FYI, I've disassembled it to check on ribbon cables - all attached.
