My microwave door latch/latch mechanism spontaneously stopped working, and now the door won't stay closed, and thus the microwave won't turn on... unless you close it just right and either hold it exactly shut while it's on, or use rare earth magnets (the exterior is steel) to keep it shut. But if something makes the house, or that wall, vibrate for any reason, the microwave is likely to stop, as the latch mechanism senses the door opened slightly. (Otherwise imperceptibly, but bonus points for stringent safety features!)

This style microwave does not have a button to open the door, one just pulls the stationary handle.

The microwave in question is a Samsung 1.7 kW over-the-range style, and I've included pictures, if that helps.

Microwave: Blown transformer in a Panasonic inverter microwave

The transformer on my old Panasonic NN-A554W's magnetron power supply board has blown, but the board would be an easy swap if only I could find one :/

I am worried about the magnetron (2M236-M42) being the cause of the problem too but both of my multimeters just read 0 ohms between its pins, and I'm not sure if that's normal or the meters just aren't accurate enough. There's no short between them and its case.

Does anybody have experience with these boards? Its part number is A6645M304GP, and it looks like a lot of other models use boards that look identical but have different part numbers. I have even found a site saying that this magnetron can be used with an A66454T05AP or F66454T07AP board. They do look the same as my board, but do they have hidden differences?

Thanks if anyone can give me any pointers.

Panasonic Microwave: model NN-SN966S Lost all control of the keypad exept Reset

First, out of the blue, the display screen showed the Power Level counting down repeatedly (P 10, P 9...) while at the same time the speaker was sending out a continuous beep, beep, beep.

When I unplugged the device for a couple minutes, then plugged the power cable back into the socket, the display came up flashing and showed 88:88. I pressed every button on the keypad and only the Reset button worked clearing the display and showed : and again none of the keys on the keypad worked.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking maybe the keypad failed or possibly the microprocessor. Is this even fixable?

Whirlpool Microwave: Microwave oven no power at all, but next day it works normally

No light, no control panel, no spinning ... nothing ! Like it was unplugged. Next day is working normally, and then stops again.
Fuse , thermostat, door switches checked and are OK. Capacitor and magnetron was not checked, but on the days it works it heats up the food normally.
Any idea ?

This over the range microwave doesn't heat food. When started, there is no light on within the oven and no humming from the magnetron but the turntables rotates and the display counts down. The interior light doesn't come on when the door is open. All other functions work: fan, range light, keypad, display.

I've had technicians come out 3 times for the same problem. The first tech said he flicked a relay on the control card. That lasted about 5 weeks. The second replaced the control card. That lasted about 3 days. The third tech is ordering another control card and the door switches, though he said the switches all checked out. It seems unlikely that two different control boards would fail in the same way. What else could be causing this problem? Wiring/connector? Grease getting in? Power quality?

This unit is under a extended warranty, but I'm getting tired of the loss of the unit for multiple weeks waiting for the tech appointment and for new parts to arrive.
