KitchenAid KSM150PSER: Kitchenaid Speed 2 too fast, can't adjust it

Hello everybody!

I bought an KSM150 which was bought in the Unites States around 2005. For using it here in Germany I use a Converter from 230 V to 120 V which works perfectly.

My problem is, that speed 2 is nearly twice as fast as it should be, speed 2 , 6 and 8 are nearly the same and speed 10 is a lot faster. I tried to adjust it, what didn't work. So i bought a new phase control board and replaced the old one, sadly without an effect.

Do you think it's the speed control plate or could it also be the Mixer Motor Governor which causes the problem?

Thanks for your help,

Alex

KitchenAid Mixer: Why did my kitchen mixer tap suddenly start pouring out water?

Homebase 'Leonie' mixer tap bought 2.5 years ago for £130. Top quality!

Suddenly, without anyone touching it and with both taps turned off water started pouring out of the spout. Have had to isolate the cold water supply to stop the flow which is about 80% of the normal mains flow rate. How can a modern ceramic valve fail in this catastrophic manner? Is this a design fault and will a valve change be worth it?

KitchenAid Professional 600: Seems to surge in power when under a small load, after replacing gears

My girlfriend's Pro 600 had started skipping gears it sounded like and after viewing a couple troubleshooting videos it seemed like we needed to replace a stripped gear or gears. When I opened it up there weren't any obvious damages but it did look like there was some wear on a few gears. We ordered and replaced basically all new gears from the motor to the planetary ring gear.

I installed all the parts as shown in the blown up picture of the mixer. Applied tons of fresh grease to everything, after detail cleaning all the old grease before replacing the parts. With no load it runs smoothly and sounds fine except a light knocking.

She tried her first cake mix in it and shortly after it started it would sound like it surged in power up and down. She was able to finish the batter but we're not looking to use it again until we can fix this problem.

Also, the video we watched showed the bushings installed with the flat sides perpendicular to the counter top but the blow up picture shows them parallel. I installed them the way the video showed but it does appear they could go either way.

Thanks for any help!

KitchenAid Mixer: Swapping KitchenAid KSM55 Mixer with European Model 5KSM60SPXBPT

I have exactly the same with my KSM55... I would like to do the swap too. Have you done yours? Have you identified the model in Europe that is the match? I think it's probably MIXER BOWL-LIFT 5.6L - ARTISAN - 5KSM60SPXBPT. Can anyone share thoughts on this? The bowl capacity seems slightly diffferent 5.5 vs 5.6. Also wattage says 375? I am very confused as my US one says 500W. So would this mean I would be changing to a weaker motor? Any further advice would be hugely appreciated and I think this issue is now faced by an increasing number of people.

KitchenAid Artisan Mixer: Will not turn off

I have a Kitchen Aid Artisan stand mixer, about 5 years old. The switch will not stay in the off position, but will move (all by itself) into the stir position. If I tighten the recommended screw, it solves this problem, but then the mixer runs at a much higher speed and will not run at low speeds at all.

A question that was asked previously is similar to mine:

I have an older Kitchenaid Artisan tilt head mixer and even after speed adjustment and replacement of top plastic gear assembly, food grade grease and phase control board (original spare part) the speed won’t go up after position 8. Even when properly adjusted (60 rpm at 1, 180 rpm at 6), the speed difference between position 6 and 8 is minimal and between 8 and 10 is absent.

This speed problem was already there when I was given the mixer, but I was hoping the replacements and adjustments would fix the speed problem. Please advise.
