I have checked the GPU which isnt the problem as I tried it in another PC. It’s not the CPU as I have just installed the same one that was originally in it( I bent the pins trying to put it back in when checking if it was the problem :/).
Gaming PC: Monitor turns on, PC turns on, monitor no signal.

All cords are connected, it WILL connect signal after I shake my mouse and press random keys on my keyboard, sometimes. This isn't too much of a problem until I remember I've already spent MORE money replacing an earlier monitor that should've been top tier and the fact I don't have money for more. After a long day, I just want to do my schoolwork on a computer that I know wont have problems.

I'm not sure this will matter, but my specs are here.
RAM: 16GB
CPU: Intel Xeon e3-1231 v3
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 980
Motherboard: Lenovo Sharkbay (not sure I got the right info for this one sorry)
Running Windows 10

I have an Onn Monitor link, and I have to use the display port. For some reason the HDMI ports wouldn't work.
My monitor also has an option to auto pick the input, I have to leave this option off because it will just cycle through all the options once or twice before deciding that once again, there's no signal.

As far as I know all my drivers should be up to date. I'm not great with the software side of computers, as I get scared I'll break something. The windows check for updates says everything is up to date in the drivers themselves.

I don't think there's anymore relevant information to add. Every time I try to google I get the 'have you tried unplugging and replugging?' yes, yes I have. Many times. The monitor will work PERFECT once its on, it just doesn't always want to connect...

Thank you for your time.

Gaming PC: Anyway to calculate PC power consumption WITHOUT watt meter?

Ok, so I recently inherited my first gaming pc. It’s nothing too special but it’s like your first car, since it’s my first it the greatest thing ever.

However, I live in Mexico and the way that the electricity bills work here is such that it is tiered. It is really cheap until you hit a certain KWh / month and the price per KWh literally quadruples (makes the price of electricity equal to around that of Hawaii).

So, point is, before I use this thing too much, I want to know if there is a way to determine how much power the heavy draw items such as the GPU and the CPU are going to draw.

Can I see how much my components are using in real time through an app for the computer?

I am fully aware that I can get a water meter (such as a Killawatt) and plug that in between the wall and my pc, however they are about 20-25 bucks and mostly I don’t want to wait for a package to arrive from amazon.

I am not looking for exact numbers but a general estimate.

My components are as follows:

GeForce GTX 1080 Ryzen 5 2600 Corsair CX600M 600w PSU 2 case fans and one cpu cooler fan Gigabyte B450M DS3H 16gb of Corsair Vengence DDR4 Ram

Thanks in advance for your help guys and gals!

Gaming PC: Crash, then no picture

Hi!

So my PC crashed yesterday when I was playing CoD. I had to go to work anyways so I left it, today I tried powering it on and I'm not getting a picture output. The backlight of the monitor powers, stays on for about 5 seconds and then dims out again

I plugged in my onboard graphics and I did get an MSI logo for about a second before the screen went black again.

GPU fans do NOT spin on start-up when my monitor input is set to the GPU, when my monitor input is set to the onboard graphics however, the fans fire up.

This makes me pretty sure that I'm dealing with a PSU issue, but I am fairly new to building so I could use some other opinion here.

Cheers

Gaming PC: PC Crashes When Closing Games or Occasionally Mid-Game - Need Help

Problem Description: I've been facing a persistent and frustrating issue with my custom-built PC for the past six months, and I've exhausted almost every troubleshooting step I can think of. I'm hoping that the knowledgeable members of this forum can provide some insights or suggestions to help me resolve this issue.

Issue Summary:

Crashes: The problem primarily manifests when I'm closing games, but it can also occur during gameplay or shortly after booting up my PC. These crashes are characterized by a loss of display signal, and at times, the display shows a solid color like green, blue, or purple.

Audio: In most cases, I can still hear audio from my system, including Discord calls with friends. However, sometimes the audio also crashes, resulting in the last second of audio repeating rapidly until a hard reset is performed.

Resolution: The only way to resolve the issue is to perform a hard reset via the case power button. Sometimes, after a hard reset and when my desktop loads, the computer may crash again.

Affected Games: While this problem occurs with various games like SMITE, Age of Empire IV, and Roblox, it's worth noting that Mount & Blade: Bannerlord consistently causes crashes, particularly shortly after a battle.

System Details:

CPU: Upgraded from an i7-8700K to an i5-12600K

Motherboard: Replaced Asus Z390-P with an MSI PRO Z690-A

GPU: Originally an ROG STRIX GTX 1080, temporarily swapped with a GTX 1660 SUPER

RAM: 32GB Corsair 3000MHz

PSU: EVGA 750 Watt

Operating System: Upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

RAM, GPU, and power cables reseated, and contacts cleaned.

PSU output tested using a PSU tester.

GPU power cables inspected with a multimeter, found no abnormalities.

Amp reader used to calculate a load of around 350 watts under load.

Windows reinstallation (upgraded to Windows 11).

Windows memory test yielded no issues.

GPU swap with no issues observed on the second PC.

Mount & Blade: Bannerlord tested on the second PC without crashes.

Additional Notes:

No error codes are displayed during these crashes.

Event log shows errors related to hard-rebooting.

The problem doesn't occur during every gaming session and can be intermittent.

Windows and drivers are kept up-to-date.

As a former computer technician, I've tried a wide range of troubleshooting steps.

Request for Assistance: I'm reaching out to this community in the hopes that someone might have encountered a similar issue or could provide fresh insights into what might be causing these crashes. I'm hesitant to replace my GPU without being certain that it's the root cause, given that the issue seems to disappear when using a different GPU temporarily.

Any suggestions, advice, or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

Gaming PC: Pc keeps crashing and I have tried everything

my pc keeps crashing, getting blue screens of death, random shut off of the game or turned off completely. HOWEVER, THIS ONLY HAPPENS UNDER LOAD OR WHEN PLAYING A GAME I also get corrupted windows and files of that sort. EX, cannot run safe mode to try and du to clean reinstall drivers. Something wrong with the error, I have redownloaded windows entirely twice, full clean reinstall

I have tried to measure cpu temps and gpu temps, both operate within range, pu gets as high as 80-85 egrees celsius, high not enough for it to crash/thermal throttle. gpu sits comfortably at 50 degrees.

Not the issue at hand for the two of then

so as my next test I thought it was the ram, i ran a couple of tests in the software, reseated it anc cried again. Kept crashing, do not think it is the ram.

I then downloaded disk manager info to se the SSD health and it seems to be completely fine. 97% healthy

Update: I then bought a new psu to troubleshoot but thr pc still crashed, i bought two sticks of ram and it still crashed but not turning off fully but rather the game simply closes now. I have no idea what to do

Gaming PC: My pc suddenly restarts and then the monitor turn no signal after

So my pc are suddenly restarting or crashing these past few weeks but every time it restarts it always backs to normal so I thought it might be the auto restart feature of my pc so I try to turn it off, but the problem still haven't fix until these last week I think April 18 or 19 of 2023 when my pc suddenly restart and it says in the monitor no signal and my mouse lights are off too so I try to power it off and clean the RAM slot and using some pencil eraser to my RAM. It works though the problem still happen just tomorrow night so I try to the same solution again and it didn't work so I try to remove the CMOS and put it back after a minute, it fixes my problem then it happen again after a few days and when I try to do the both solution I did before, I'm shock because it didn't work after that I just waited a day then try turn it on, my pc is working back to normal again but it still suddenly restarts and the no signal problem happen more often so try to take it to a person who knows more about pc and he says that maybe because of the OS(windows 11) or my ssd so I ask him if he could reformat it and turn it back to Windows 10. I thought my problem is gonna be solved but the problem is still there. Should I buy a new ssd or look if its problem in my other hardware? I'm really sorry for my bad grammar English is not may native language

P.s I've been using this pc for almost a three years now I got this pc way back 2019 just months after the pandemic starts
